HOW TO SEND A FAX

Learn how to send a fax from your personal computer with the help of a fax modem and your computer's operating system. First, check that your computer is configured to receive and send faxes.
Next, prepare the document that you wish to send. You could do this using an ordinary word processing program.
If you click on the help button of your word processing program, it may provide you with specific guidance on how to send a fax using your chosen program. If desired, prepare a cover sheet for your fax.
Next, open up your computer's fax software and search for a send icon or command. Click on this command.
Follow any instructions you are provided with. You may be asked to enter the fax number of the recipient.
Be sure to have this information to hand. Enter any area codes carefully.
You may be asked whether or not you wish to send a cover sheet. Ensure that you choose the right option for your needs.
You may then be asked to attach your file. Follow the instructions careful and ensure that you attach the correct file to be faxed.
When you are happy that your fax is ready to be sent, click on the send icon. When ready, the computer will dial the remote fax machine.
Once the connection has been made, your fax will be sent. Tips and Tricks If you have not sent a fax before, you may wish to try sending a fax to a close friend while learning how to send a fax for the first time.
Watch out for long-distance fax charges. If you receive a busy signal, you may need to try again another time.
